Classroom Spotlight: Melissa McLaughlinās art class at The Dalton Academy has been bustling with creativity as students worked on winter-themed projects before the break, crafting Santa ornaments and painting winter scenes.
In McLaughlinās class, students explore the elements and principles of art and design, fostering a space where learners of all abilities can thrive. Many talented students stand out, showcasing their artistic skills and passion.
Over the past three years, McLaughlin has dedicated herself to gathering quality materials for her students and encouraging them to participate in local competitions, believing their talents and hard work deserve recognition. Classroom Spotlight: Maggie Kalafutās classroom at Park Creek School recently embraced the holiday spirit while reinforcing key math concepts! Students used snowmen and buttons to visualize subtraction, helping them explore addition, subtraction, and equality. Through fun, hands-on activities, they composed and decomposed numbers, making learning both engaging and festive.

Winter Break has officially begun! Dalton Public Schools will be closed from December 21, 2024, through January 5, 2025. We hope you enjoy this time to relax, celebrate, and make memories with loved ones.

Traci Hopkins Named The Dalton Academy Classified Staff of the Year:
Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce Traci Hopkins as The Dalton Academy's Classified Staff of the Year. Hopkins, who has been a school nurse since 2006, is celebrated for her unwavering commitment to the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of students and staff.
This marks another recognition in her distinguished career, having previously been named Classified Staff of the Year at Blue Ridge Elementary in 2015-2016 and Morris Innovative High School in 2020-2021.

Yesterday, members of the district office leadership team made their way back into the classroom for the day so Dalton Highās science teachers could enjoy a well-deserved off-campus lunch!
The science department earned this treat by winning the Dalton High School Spirit Competition during the DHS homecoming week. It was a great way to celebrate their hard work and school spirit while keeping the learning going!
