Dalton Public Schools Congratulates Four Students Named 2025 Georgia Scholars

Dalton, GA — Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce that four students from Dalton High School have been named 2025 Georgia Scholars by the Georgia Department of Education. Congratulations to Hope Hambrock, Tasneem Issa, Scarlett O'Shaughnessey, and Cencen Isa Wan for earning this prestigious honor.

The Georgia Scholar program recognizes high school seniors who have demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, and community service. This year, 145 students statewide received the designation of Georgia Scholar. Each honoree receives a seal for their diploma and, for the first time this year, a special graduation cord.

“Congratulations to the 145 outstanding students honored as Georgia Scholars this year!” said State School Superintendent Richard Woods. “This prestigious recognition identifies students who go above and beyond in all aspects of life – both within the school walls and in the community. I wish them great success in their futures and can’t wait to see the impact they make on our state, nation, and world."

To qualify as a Georgia Scholar, students must meet rigorous academic requirements, including a minimum GPA of 3.75, high SAT or ACT scores, and the completion of a challenging curriculum. They must also demonstrate leadership in school and community organizations, participate in competitive interscholastic activities, and show a strong sense of character and civic responsibility.

Dalton Public Schools congratulates these outstanding students on their dedication, achievement, and the positive example they set for others.
