Chandler Kinser Named Roan School’s 2024–2025 Classified Staff Member of the Year

Dalton, Ga. — Dalton Public Schools is proud to announce that Chandler Kinser has been named Roan School’s 2024–2025 Classified Staff Member of the Year. Kinser serves as an ESS paraprofessional at Roan School, where she supports students in kindergarten through second grade. Known for her compassion, dedication, and unwavering belief in every child’s potential, she is celebrated by colleagues and students alike.

Kinser believes firmly in meeting each child’s needs with empathy and individualized support.

“I believe that every student has the ability to reach their own individual goals—as long as they are supported by educators who believe in them and show that belief through meaningful, responsive teaching,” she shared. “Each child is unique, with their own strengths, interests, and challenges, and they deserve to be treated with that same individuality—both in how they learn and in how they are supported emotionally throughout the school year.”

As an ESS paraprofessional, she works daily to ensure that students feel seen, heard, and cared for. She extends that same support to colleagues as well.

“Just like students, teachers and school staff have difficult days and deserve encouragement and support. I believe that fostering a caring environment for both students and colleagues is essential to a healthy and successful learning community,” Kinser said.

Kinser’s dedication goes far beyond the classroom. Whether helping stock classroom snacks, gathering meal options students enjoy, or finding sensory tools to support students’ focus and regulation, she consistently seeks out ways to create a positive and inclusive environment.

“I have always been willing to go above and beyond for my students and anyone in need,” she said.

In addition to her work during the school day, Kinser participates in the After School Program and has served in the Summer Nutrition Program for six years—experiences she describes as deeply meaningful.

“This program not only provides nourishment, but it also gives me the opportunity to reconnect with students from past years, check in on their well-being, and share in their excitement for the upcoming school year,” she said of the summer initiative.

Roan School administrators say that Kinser’s positivity, commitment, and warm presence make a meaningful impact on the school community every day. She is known for encouraging student involvement, supporting teachers, and creating a classroom environment rooted in empathy and growth.

Dalton Public Schools congratulates Chandler Kinser on this well-deserved honor and celebrates her outstanding dedication to students, families, and the Roan School community.
