DALTON, GA - Dalton Public Schools is pleased to announce that Out-of-Zone and Out-of-District enrollment applications for rising ninth-grade students for the 2026ā2027 school year are now open. Families may submit applications beginning today through January 5, 2026.
These application options provide families with opportunities to explore the best educational fit for their students while supporting district enrollment guidelines and capacity.
Out-of-Zone Enrollment
Out-of-Zone applications are available for current eighth-grade students who live within Dalton Public Schools attendance zones and are interested in attending a high school outside of their assigned school.
Families whose students are already zoned for the school they plan to attend do not need to submit an application. For approved Out-of-Zone requests, families are responsible for providing transportation if the school is outside their transportation zone.
Out-of-District Enrollment
Out-of-District applications are available for students who reside outside Dalton Public Schools attendance zones and wish to attend Dalton Public Schools for the 2026ā2027 school year. Approval is based on space availability and district criteria, and submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.
Transportation is not provided for Out-of-District students, and families must arrange transportation if their application is approved.
Important Dates and Next Steps
All applications must be submitted by January 5, 2026. Families will be notified of enrollment decisions in late January 2026.
